Chapter 194: Fufilling Your Destiny

POV Rio

I was training when I got a system notification.

[Ding]

[Criteria Met Special Quest Issued Awakening The Bloodline]

'What? System, can I get more info?'

[Ding]

[The User Can Complete The Quest By Meditating. Warning: The User Will Be Stuck In Meditation Until The Quest Is Completed.]

I try asking for more info, but the system won't say anything else. The Force beckoned me to start meditating, but I resisted until I could let everyone know what was happening and to leave behind a Wood Clone just in case. Then I went to the Temple on Gaia and started meditating. Once I enter meditation, I feel as if my consciousness leaves my body.

'Strange.'

I open my eyes when I feel my feet are standing on stone. I look around and see I am in a temple of some kind.

'I feel like I have seen this before.'

???: "That is because you have."

I turn to the voice and see an old man with a pointy hat.

???: "Hahaha, that is one one to describe me."

Rio: "Wait, you read my mind?"

???: "Yes and no. The last time I saw you, I could not, but now I can. But it is only temporary, I assure you."

Rio: "Because I am not here physically? Or it's part of the trial."

???: "No to the first and yes to the second. Now I should introduce myself, but I can tell you already know who I am."

Rio: "You are The Father, the patriarch of the Mortis Gods."

Father: "Yes, it has been a long time since we have been called that."

Rio: "So what is it I must do to pass this trial?"

Father: "That will become clear soon enough."

Screech

I look up to where the sound comes from, and my heart nearly leaps out of my chest. I watch as the Son and Sister land on opposite sides of the arena I am in, and what they are carrying scares me.

'How are they here?'

Rio: "Let them go! I will do your test, they are innocent; they don't need to be involved."

Father: "Oh, but I think they will. I have ordered my children to kill your family. The question is..."

I turned around, and he vanished.

'Damn Batman wannabe.'

Father: "Which one will you choose to save? Your father... Or your son. You must now make your choice."

I feel anger and rage at what he is doing.

Rio: "NO!"

Lucario: "Father!"

I turn to look at the Father with great fury.

Rio: "Let. Them. Go."

Father: "Only you can make my children release them."

Dooku: "Rio, remember your training. I believe in you."

I take a big breath to calm myself and enter a state of oneness.

'I am one with the force, and the force is with me.'

(AN: Play Star Wars - Mortis Gods (The Ones) Complete Music Theme at the 2-minute mark on YouTube for some music. )

POV Father

When Rio opens his eyes, his eyes are glowing pure white. I can feel the power radiating from him. He puts his hands together and then moves them in a wave motion, causing my children to be lifted. As he is doing so, the day turns into both day and night at the same time. The Moon and Sun are near each other in the sky.

Rio: "RELEASE THEM!"

I had to use the Force to block the power from his voice.

'Such power. It seems he is ready.'

With a slight downward motion, my children let his family go. Then Rio forces my children to collide with each other. Then he forces them to the ground.

Rio: "KNEEL!"

POV Rio

I leave the state of oneness once I have ensured that the Son and Daughter are under control.

Father: "And now you see what you truly are. You have passed the first trial."

Rio: "I don't care what the next trial is. Let them return from whence they came. I don't like it when one threatens my family. You better remember that."

Father: "Ah, but first we must talk. Now, all of you leave us."

Lucario: "Can I punch the old man?"

Rio: "No, you better go."

Father: "I said leave us."

(AN: You can pause the music now.)

Once everyone leaves, I turn to look at The Father. I desperately want to punch him, but I hold myself back.

Rio: "You mentioned other trials. What are they?"

Father: "There are 2 more trials, each more difficult than the last. I know not what the last trial contains, only what the next one is."

Rio: "And you needed to threaten my family because?"

Father: "I needed to know you were strong enough for the next trial. The death of myself and my children is approaching. We will not be around to maintain the prison."

I knew exactly what he was referring to.

Rio: "Abeloth. You need me to finish what you were never able to."

I sense melancholy and guilt.

Father: "Yes, we were never able to put her to rest. While she has stayed youthful, I have grown old and weak. My children cannot stop her, nor will they live long enough to see her escape."

Rio: "You know of your death? Why not avoid it?"

Father: "My death must happen at the hands of the Chosen One. It will bring balance. It will lead to the best outcome. Thus, I face my death with peace. But The Force has tasked me with completing my last regret. You will do what I could not."

He handed me the Dagger of Mortis, and I took it.

Father: "You will go to the World Between Worlds. From there, you will enter the door to Abeloth's Prison. But I warn you, if you fail, you will be trapped there with her until you defeat her. Your mind and soul will not be able to leave."

Rio: "Very well."

We walk to a stone wall that has a unique pattern on it. With a wave of his hand, the wall turns into a door to the World Between Worlds. I am stopped before I enter by The Father.

Father: "Do not fall into the temptations of changing the past. And do not linger for too long. Some things are best left in the past."

I was confused by what he meant, but I entered the door. Once I was inside, the door closed behind me. I walk around trying to sense which door I should take when I see something that looks familiar.

'Is that what I think it is?'

Through one of the doors, I see a ship. The Aura's Revenge. But it is with other ships I recognize.

'That the Dirty Bothan and that's the Lonely Prince. Those are the ships from Omega Fleet commanded by Admiral Cath Fain'din. But that must mean this is the past.'

I watch as a Republic Fleet ambushes the fleet, and the Dirty Bothan is torn to pieces by Bombers. Then, when only two ships remain, I watch as the Aura's Revenge starts to flee. But what happens next confuses me. Several Proton Torpedoes were going to hit the engines of the Aura's Revenge, but a flash of light blue light made them explode.

'That was magic. But not mine. But how?'

The shockwave caused the Aura's Revenge to go off course, and the rest is history. I think about what could have caused the explosion, but I stop when The Force draws me to another door. This one leads to a Jungle World. I knew this was what I came here for.

'Okay, calm down. I can do this. She is mad, which means she is somewhat unpredictable but also means she will be less focused. If I can stab her with the Dagger, her immortality will be useless.'

I enter the door, and I feel the door close behind me. I can also instantly feel the presence of her. She arrives quickly.

Abeloth: "You... You the Child... Her child... You shouldn't be here. I can't control myself... She wants you safe... Yes... Safe... Safe? Leave... No, wait, he is here. That means he has arrived. On a ship... Ship? Ship. Yes. We must leave... Naughty Children must be punished."

She continues to mumble about random things, and I try to get closer to her. But it seems she sensed me and reacted and turned into a swarm of tentacles.

'Gross.'

That causes the Tentacles to freeze.

'Uh oh.'

BANG

A massive blast of Force Energy blasts me away, and I smash through several trees.

(AN: Play Star Wars - Delta Squad (Clone Commandos) Complete Music Theme on YouTube for some battle music.)

Once I stopped smashing through trees, I had to immediately dodge to the left as a mass of tentacles pierced the ground where I landed.

Abeloth: "You should have left. Now I am going to hurt you. I know she would not like that. But you called me gross!"

Rio: "Sorry?"

A stream of lightning bursts from her tentacles, and I block it with Tutaminis. She tried to get around me, but I cut off her tentacles with my lightsaber.

HISS

That seemed to upset her more. But I didn't care. I just needed to stall her while I slowly infected her mind. I also had to be wary of her reading my mind. Thus, I used Parallel Processing to use one mind to block her mind reading. Another was focused on defense. One was focused on infecting her scrambled mind. Another was focused on using my lightsabers for defense and offense. The last 2 were focused on my body movements and calculating the right time to attack.

'A few more seconds.'

She seemed to sense something was wrong because she started going ballistic and smashing everything in the area. She also called all the nearby fauna to attack me, but it failed. Blessing Of Nature negated her mind control. It also boosted my stats as we were in the forest. I had to jump to avoid the attacks coming from every angle constantly. Even with The Force, it was proving to be difficult to predict all the attacks. But I just had to hold out for a little longer. I was backed into a corner near a cliff. As she approached me, she was twitching and squirming. Then she did what I was waiting for. She turned back into a humanoid form. She was far less capable of dodging or avoiding attacks in that form.

Abeloth: "You... You... Yooooouuu..."

'Now.'

I rushed her, and she started to react but then froze. I used every last bit of speed I could manage and plunged the Dagger into her chest. From my rush at her to when I stabbed her, only took a fraction of a second, but once it was done, she stopped moving, and I could feel her lifeforce rapidly draining. I moved away just in case she tried anything.

Abeloth: "You... Thank... You..."

Her body started to disintegrate. Once she was gone, all that remained was the Dagger. But that, too, started to fade away, and I felt my consciousness fade. When I opened my eyes, I saw I was in a new place.

'Another place that looks familiar.'

???: "It should. It is our mind after all."

I turned around and nearly fell over at what I saw. An Alicorn that looked just like me but with flowing hair and strange armor.
