Later that evening, the city was ablaze with lights.

Link Star stood by the floor-to-ceiling window of the guest cabin, gazing at the nightscape of Bilgewater.

Bilgewater was somewhat similar to Piltover and Zaun, divided into two worlds by the Butcher's Bridge.

One was the upper city, brightly lit like a city that never slept. The other was the slums, where the lights were sparse, flickering like fireflies.

In the minds of Bilgewater's people, the higher you went, the farther you were from the sea, the better the place was.

The higher the ground, the greater the chance of survival during the Harrowing.

As a result, the higher you went in Bilgewater, the more expensive the prices and housing became, leaving many unable to afford it.

"Mr. Star, we've found Twisted Fate!"

Raven, Sarah Fortune's first mate, pushed open the door and delivered the good news.

Link raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Now that's some good news!"

"Where is he now?"

"He's planning to leave Bilgewater tonight to lay low. The situation here is too chaotic right now."

"Has Illaoi shown up yet?"

"Not yet."

Raven felt a twinge of unease when Link mentioned the Prophet of Nagakabouros. After all, Gangplank, her ex-boyfriend, had been taken down by Link.

Logically, if Illaoi wanted revenge, she'd come after Link.

But the problem was, their captain, Sarah Fortune, had been the one to lead Link to Gangplank.

Besides, even though Illaoi and Gangplank had been broken up for years, who could say if she still had feelings for him?

No matter how powerful Illaoi was, she was still a woman.

And women were hard to figure out.

"What is she planning?"

Link pondered Illaoi's motives. According to the original lore, after Miss Fortune sank the Leviathan, she held a funeral for one of her fallen crew members.

At the funeral, Illaoi appeared and gave Miss Fortune a charm that would allow her to seek help at the temple.

But now, Link had completely disrupted the timeline. He had single-handedly taken down Gangplank.

The people who were supposed to die hadn't died, so there was no funeral, and Illaoi had no reason to show up.

Still, Link felt that she was definitely plotting something.

"Forget it. Let's not worry about Illaoi for now. We'll just wait and see."

Link decided to stop overthinking it. After all, he had a trump card up his sleeve to deal with Illaoi. Even if she was the Prophet, he wasn't afraid.

The real issue now was dealing with Twisted Fate.

"Let's go. Take me to him."

Link threw on his lab coat and headed to another cabin to find Nekko and Fizz.

"I've got some business to take care of. You two are coming with me."

"FLYING CHESS!!"

Fizz waved a chess piece in the air, proudly shouting the new phrase he'd learned. Nekko, meanwhile, put down her piece and puffed out her cheeks in frustration.

Link had originally made a flying chess set for the two of them to play with, hoping it would help them bond.

But he hadn't expected them to get completely addicted to it.

And this was just flying chess. If he ever introduced them to video games, Runeterra might see its first internet-addicted youth.

If Fizz even counted as a youth—

Link ruffled both their heads.

"I'll get you something even more fun later."

"Hmph!" Nekko huffed as she packed up the chess set. Fizz also put his pieces away and picked up his trident.

"Fizz, head to the ocean and wait for my signal. Be ready to act when I say so. Nekko, you're coming with me."

Fizz waved at Nekko and jumped into a water jar that had been specially placed in the room, disappearing in an instant.

The little guy could teleport through any body of water, which was how he'd managed to sneak into the kitchen and steal Nekko's cheesecake.

After leaving the airship, Link and Nekko followed Raven to the Slaughter Docks. As soon as they entered, Link saw bodies hanging from hooks, swaying in the evening breeze.

Waiting for them there was Graves.

"The Slaughter Docks have been chaotic lately. Dozens have already died."

"Hmm. Tell Sarah Fortune to stabilize the situation as soon as possible, or it's going to cause a chain reaction."

Link glanced at the dock rats gathered beneath the hanging bodies before following Raven further into the docks. Graves trailed behind them.

They couldn't go after Twisted Fate without him.

Miss Fortune was still busy cleaning up the gang leaders, and Link wasn't sure how she was handling the bodies.

Leaving corpses hanging like this in the Slaughter Docks was practically inviting vengeful spirits to rise.

"Why did Twisted Fate come here?"

Graves blew out a puff of indigo smoke. Raven shrugged. "Bilgewater's been a mess lately, as you know. These scoundrels are fighting over territory, trying to grab whatever scraps they can. It's chaos."

"Same old, same old."

Graves hoisted his temporary weapon over his shoulder, his eyes scanning the people around them.

Link hadn't given him the new armor and weapons he'd made yet, so Graves was stuck using the standard-issue Hextech gun from the enforcers.

The people who caught Graves' gaze quickly looked away. This group clearly wasn't to be messed with, especially since they were being led by Raven, the first mate of the Syren, which had been making waves lately.

It didn't take long for them to reach a small boat docked at the harbor. Raven pointed at it. "This is the boat Twisted Fate plans to use."

"How did you guys figure out which boat he'd be on?" Graves asked, half-skeptical. Raven chuckled. "Because I'm the one who arranged for it to be sold to him!"

"You're something else, Raven. Playing these games like a pro."

Graves gave a thumbs-up, already imagining the look on Twisted Fate's face when he saw him in the cabin. It was going to be priceless!

"Alright, enough talk. Let's get into the hold. Raven, you handle the rest. We'll give Twisted Fate, the Card Master, a little surprise."

Link led Nekko into the boat's hold, with Graves following close behind. Raven called over the people he'd arranged and gave them their instructions.

Once inside the hold, Link calmly waited for Twisted Fate to arrive.

Before long, they heard voices outside. Link looked up at the ceiling.

Soon, the boat rocked slightly—Twisted Fate had set sail.

"Boss, should we move now?"

"No rush. Let's wait a bit longer."

Link crossed his arms, perfectly at ease. Let Twisted Fate sail out to sea. Once they were out there, Fizz could summon the shark and block his escape.

In the vast ocean, there was nowhere for him to run.

"Then we'll wait."

Graves rubbed his hands together anxiously, eagerly anticipating the reunion with Twisted Fate.

It was going to be one hell of a surprise!
