Chapter 208: Level One zombie
[Ding.]
[Special Crystal Nuclei Detected.]
[Level 1 zombie detected. Will the host exchange the crystal nuclei with the system?]
When Bai Meiyue heard the notification of the system, she was quite surprised. She turned to look at the street in front of her and questioned, "Can the system provide me with a map to collect the rare crystal nuclei?"

[Request accepted.]
[Map granted.]
A small map appeared in front of Bai Meiyue with a red dot on it, which was most probably the location of the Level One zombie. However, she didn't want the entire team to follow her. She turned to look at the rest of the team and waited for them to finish putting their supplies in their cars.
This was their third stop at a small supply store. Bai Meiyue turned to look at the rest of the team members and questioned calmly, "Do you want to continue collecting supplies or do you want to go to the City Hospital right away?"
There was no other choice; the City Hospital was at the centre of the city, which meant that there were many shops that still had some supplies inside of them. Bai Meiyue thought it was a shame to leave the supplies without taking them; even if they were not as essential for her, the rest of the team needed them.
"We will keep on collecting the supplies." Before anyone could answer, Director Feng spoke up. When he saw the rest of the team looking at him with confusion, he raised his brows and remarked with a calm voice, "Why are you looking at me like that? I am a member of this team. How can I selfishly ask you all to leave these supplies for my sake?"

"My wife has been waiting for me for more than a month. If she is alive, then she will be fine for a few more hours."
When Bai Meiyue heard his response, she nodded.
She was quite glad that there were still a few sensible people left in this world. "Alright then, collect the rest of the supplies and meet me in twenty minutes."
After she finished speaking, she turned to look at her brothers and said to them, "You should go to the small bakery that you saw at the end of the street; there should be some milk and bread left in the ice storage."
Though the electricity supply of the city had been disrupted, such shops had emergency electric supplies. Surely, it must be running at the moment and the goods inside the bakery might still be in good condition.
Her two brothers nodded and went to the bakery.
Once she sent them away, Bai Meiyue heaved a sigh and turned to look at the front. The reason she stopped her brothers and the rest of the team from going with her was because—there was a level 1 zombie hiding somewhere down there!
In her past life, a level 1 zombie appeared many months later but it seemed like because of her rebirth, some kind of butterfly effect had taken place. The Level One zombie, which was supposed to appear after three months, mutated and appeared in just one month.
However, Bai Meiyue was not terrified when she realised that there was a number one zombie in front of her. Instead, she was filled with confidence and excitement. If she could get her hands on the crystal nuclei of the number one zombie, Bai Meiyue was sure that she would be able to get a breakthrough and level up in the Barter System.
She really wanted to put in a request for a foot massager! One that would be completely harmless for a pregnant woman.
Her lips curled up in an excited smirk and she took out the sabre sword from her backpack before rushing down the street. Of course the rest of the zombies that lunged at her were also dealt with, but instead of wasting time and letting the Level One zombie escape, Bai Meiyue summoned her water abilities and created a large water whip scythe. The sharp blade of the water scythe cut through the heads of the zombies.
When Dacheng saw her skills, he was so shocked that his mouth dropped open. How—how could this woman be so skilled? How was she able to move and control the water into forming a sharp scythe? Could it be possible? Wasn't water supposed to be stationary without any external forces applied to it?
Then how could Bai Meiyue do it without another skill? And how could he achieve her skills of controlling his mist abilities? Dacheng was sure that Bai Meiyue knew how to cultivate and strengthen one's abilities but she deliberately didn't tell him.
He needed to delve deeper and get his hands on Bai Meiyue's secret.
As he looked at the circulation of water in front of him, Dacheng tried to copy Bai Meiyue's movements, but as soon as he tried to recreate a weapon with the help of his mist abilities, he felt a sting inside his chest and gave up mimicking Bai Meiyue.
Feeling a bit discouraged, he turned to Meng Suisui, who was putting another sack of flour in her car while her brother pushed the small boxes of onions and potatoes on the top of the car, tying them tightly.
"Suisui, I heard that you and Miss Bai worked together?" he walked over to where Meng Suisui was standing and helped her with the bag of mung beans. "How did she get so strong? Did she tell you anything?"
"No," Meng Suisui shook her head and refused. She hadn't awakened and was not an ability user; why would Bai Meiyue tell her how to cultivate her abilities? What was more, she was worried about her own matters; how could she have the time to care about Bai Meiyue and her abilities?
She was bitten by that zombie an hour ago and she could feel her fever symptoms getting worse and worse.
