Chapter 33: 33 Let’s Go for a Ride!

"Boss!" X9

As Hojou Kyousuke stepped down the stairs, the subordinates waiting below immediately shouted out.

"Aren't you going to watch over those guys? They're so excited, it looks like something's about to happen," Kyousuke muttered, suspecting that the sudden gathering of over two hundred people might cause trouble.

"Haha, don't worry, Boss. We already notified the police beforehand. It's a legal gathering," Makki Hojou reassured him.

"Well, that's good. But what are you still doing here? You're not planning to race me while I'm still getting used to this, are you?"

Kyousuke felt conflicted as he looked at his subordinates.

He wanted them to leave so he could ride his motorcycle around with the girls, but at the same time, he didn't want them to go because it was only a single seat motorcycle.

He wasn't sure who he'd ride with, and that was becoming a big dilemma.

"Boss, do you know where we usually race?" Makki Hojou asked, guessing what Kyousuke was thinking, but also knowing that the boss had little knowledge about biker gangs.

"Uh, isn't it just cruising around Tokyo?" Kyousuke scratched his head.

Eikichi Onizuka had already taken the flag from him.

"Hahaha, of course not! You can't have a proper race in the city. We usually race on the Tokyo Beltway."

"Oh, I see. Well, you guys go ahead. I'll just take it slow around the city," Kyousuke said.

"Boss, this is a great chance for you to get to know everyone better!" Kisaki Tetta reminded him.

Kyousuke glanced at the Onizuka duo and the Haitani brothers.

They were all looking at him expectantly.

Oh, so they wanted him to join in after all.

"No thanks, there will be other opportunities. You guys have fun," Kyousuke said decisively, looking at the three girls approaching him.

He couldn't be bothered with the all-male gathering.

Wasn't it better to be surrounded by soft and cute girls?

When the girls approached, the subordinates knew when to step aside and quietly excused themselves.

"Wow! Hojou, you looked so cool just now! I recorded everything!"

When the gang members left, Sakura trotted over to Kyousuke, holding her phone up, proudly showing him her video.

Kyousuke glanced at the screen, and sure enough, it was a cringe-worthy moment of him shouting about being "Tokyo's strongest."

He could feel the embarrassment creep up, as if he were dying inside, and immediately reached to grab the phone to delete it.

But Sakura was quick.

She had already pulled the phone back before he could grab it.

"Hehe, this was Aunt Mikiko's request. She made me record it," Sakura said, hiding the phone behind her back and grinning mischievously.

Sighing internally, Kyousuke knew his mother was going to force the whole family to watch this humiliating video.

He could already imagine it:

In spacious living room, his mom setting up the video on the TV, while his grandparents, uncles, and aunts sit on the couch sipping tea, all happily watching him make embarrassing speeches.

"Hehe, just accept it, my dear second-generation leader," Sakura laughed, knowing exactly how her Aunt Mikiko would enjoy this.

Her high-pitched laugh echoed in the night air like a mischievous sprite.

"Hojou, can we go for a ride now?"

Seeing the affectionate exchange between Hojou and Sakura, Naoka Ueno couldn't help but get jealous.

Kyousuke cursed himself for inviting the girls to watch the ceremony earlier.

What was he thinking?

"Um, Hojou-kun, if it's not convenient, I can take a cab back by myself," Shouko, understanding his discomfort, offered.

Kyousuke shook his head. "I couldn't let you go alone. This is Tokyo, the capital of weirdos."

He gently ruffled Shouko's hair, making her already messy hair even more disheveled.

Shouko smiled warmly and lowered her head, quietly enjoying his touch.

"So, Shouko, you're the sneakiest one, huh? After all this time, the first thing I see when we meet is you getting cozy with other girls. I'm telling Aunt Mikiko!"

Sakura pulled down the straps of her overalls and pouted.

Before Kyousuke could respond, Naoka spoke again.

"Ah, something's biting my leg."

Kyousuke turned around and saw Naoka bend down to brush something off her smooth, white thighs, causing her shirt to slip down and reveal a little more than usual.

He swallowed hard, his face flushing, and with immense willpower, he turned away to look somewhere else.

"Well, let's head out then. There are a lot of plants here, so it's no surprise that there are mosquitoes."

Kyousuke started walking toward the exit, ignoring the playful banter among the girls.

Naoka stood up straight, watching him hurry off, a smirk playing on her lips.

'Looks like Hojou can't resist my legs. He's so obvious. He definitely likes me.'

"Hehe."

Sakura glanced at Naoka and then at Shouko, her mischievous grin widening as she followed after Kyousuke.

...

The four of them stood in front of Kyousuke's motorcycle, lost in thought.

"Let's walk back," Kyousuke said firmly.

"Sure! There's a famous udon place nearby. Let's go eat there!" Sakura immediately chimed in. She could never resist food.

"Sounds good. It's been a while since we've all eaten together," Shouko said sweetly, brushing her hair out of her face.

"I don't mind. That's actually in the direction of Shouko and my apartment," Naoka added, glancing at the massive black motorcycle.

As much as she wanted to ride with Hojou, there was no way she'd leave Shouko behind.

It was funny, back then, Naoka had been irritated that Kyousuke was drawn to Shouko's fragile appearance.

Now, even she couldn't help but be drawn to this strong, kind-hearted girl.

If Shouko and Hojou ended up together, she'd probably never be able to steal him away from her.

As they walked down the street, Kyousuke noticed Shouko adjusting her hearing aid and immediately grew concerned.

"Shouko, is your ear bothering you?"

"No, no," Shouko quickly shook her head. "It just slipped a little, so I adjusted it."

"I remember you just had a check-up before school. What did the doctor say?"

"Don't worry, don't worry. The doctor said there's been no change," Shouko said with a warm smile, giving him a thumbs-up.

Though she felt a little shy showing her emotions so openly, she wanted to reassure him.
