Chapter 3
Chapter 3: I Won’t Fall for Your Tricks, I’m Leaving!
The scene was eerily quiet, as if time had come to a standstill, with the bright red marks on the contract glaringly vivid.
The contract was established!
Immediately, the contract emitted a glow, splitting in two and landing in the hands of Zhou Tong and Mo Liushu.
“You dare!!!”
Mo Liushu was the first to break the silence, emanating a cold and ruthless aura that was bone-chilling, freezing the air around.
At the same time, her face bore no expression, resembling ancient dark ice, her pupils deep and unfathomable.
Everyone felt a jolt in their hearts!
They knew that things had become irreparable. Zhou Tong’s tough stance had thoroughly infuriated Mo Liushu!
Ge Hongqiu, Jiang Yuyao, and Tang Qi exchanged glances, each seeing the delight in the other’s eyes.
Once their Master entered this state, there would be no mercy left.
“Zhou Tong, from this day forward, you are expelled from the sect. You may no longer regard yourself as a disciple of the Jade Purity Sect, nor can you use its ultimate skills. If you dare to defy this, I will not spare you!”
“What I seek should be like this.”
Zhou Tong took out a jade amulet from his bosom. This jade was ancient and exquisite, exuding a warm and harmonious aura.
It was clear that this jade had been well maintained, indicating how precious it was to its owner.
“What are you doing with that?”
Mo Liushu’s pupils constricted. This amulet was originally a token she had given Zhou Tong when he became her disciple; it was merely an ordinary piece of jade, yet Zhou Tong carried it with him.
“Returning the original item!”
Zhou Tong offered the jade amulet, but it was shattered by a wave of energy easily flicked from Mo Liushu.
“What use is something tainted by your touch?”
“Then please return my token!”
Zhou Tong extended his hand, speaking with utmost seriousness.
As these words left his mouth, Mo Liushu’s expression froze. She vaguely remembered that Zhou Tong had once hand-carved an exquisite wooden bead as a token to give to her, yet she had long since thrown it away, unaware of its whereabouts.
“That kind of trash, do you think I would carry it with me? What is this, are you trying to extort me?!”
She scoffed, her words biting, showing no mercy to Zhou Tong.
“It doesn’t matter!”
Zhou Tong shrugged. That wooden bead harbored his youthful sentiments, and since it had been discarded, there was no need to pursue it further.
“We shall meet again!”
He turned to leave, but the coldness in Mo Liushu’s eyes intensified.
“Wait, all your cultivation is thanks to the sect. If you are leaving, shouldn’t you leave it all behind?”
Once this was said, even the elders found it hard to believe as they looked toward Mo Liushu.
She was actually asking Zhou Tong to forfeit his cultivation; what cruelty was this!
Zhou Tong halted his steps, turning back to view this stunning woman, coldness etched on his face!
“What audacity! Over the years, how have you ever taught me? Even the spiritual stones for my cultivation were earned by my own arduous efforts; what relation do you have to that?”
Upon hearing this, many gasped in shock.
Had Zhou Tong really endured such hardship over the years? Without his Master’s guidance or cultivation resources, he seemed worse off than the cleaning crew.
If this was true, him reaching this level through self-learning would indicate a talent so horrifying it would be concerning!
“Stop talking useless nonsense. Right now, you look no better than a stray dog!”
Mo Liushu gazed down at Zhou Tong, her indifference chilling to the bones.
“Regardless, the sect has protected you for so many years; otherwise, you wouldn’t have lived to this point. To think you can simply walk away is impossible. If you truly cannot bear to waste your cultivation, you’ll have to serve as the lowest of cleaners in the sect for a decade. After that, it’s all forgotten!”
As she spoke, she produced a token with three golden characters emblazoned on it: Sect Master’s Order!
With this token, Mo Liushu could exercise the Sect Master’s authority; her words in the Jade Purity Sect were like divine edicts!
For Zhou Tong to leave today, besides forgoing his cultivation, there was no other way out.
Mo Liushu felt immense satisfaction; she believed she had Zhou Tong in her grasp because she thought he would never relinquish his cultivation—no one could.
“I’m not falling for your tricks. If that’s the case, severing ties with you would be a gain.”
Zhou Tong’s tone was calm, as if he had truly let go of everything; yet Mo Liushu heard this as a thunderclap.
“Hmph… stop pretending. Do you think this will earn my sympathy? You’re deluding yourself!”
Mo Liushu sneered, viewing Zhou Tong as merely playing hard to get, not taking him seriously at all.
“Boom!!”
A strong momentum erupted from Zhou Tong, instantly swelling to its peak and continuing to expand.
“Little guy… stop!”
Elder Baihe exclaimed, recognizing that Zhou Tong was employing one of the most common methods of self-destruction by continuously over-exerting his spiritual energy.
“Bang!!”
Accompanied by a resounding explosion, Zhou Tong’s momentum plummeted, completely reverting him to an ordinary person.
This scene was captured by the Heavenly Dao Image and transmitted to all who witnessed it, leaving their expressions one of shock no matter the distance.
The unparalleled genius crowned at the Hundred Sects Convention had thus been reduced to nothing; how ridiculous was this!
“How resolute; it seems he is thoroughly disappointed!” some elders lamented.
“What courage! Not everyone possesses the bravery to start over. I can only say, he is worthy of being called a genius,” others praised Zhou Tong.
“What courage? How absurd; to me, he is just a little brat who doesn’t understand adaptability. He’s bound to achieve nothing in the future!”
In the Punishment Hall…
“You!!”
Mo Liushu was momentarily dazed, as Zhou Tong’s actions had once again surpassed her expectations.
Unbeknownst to her, her eyes momentarily misted over, shrouded in fog, only to be instantaneously cleared by spiritual energy, returning to her cold demeanor.
“This guy has finally been wasted; from now on, I will be the strongest talent in the sect!”
Tang Qi remained impassive, but inside, he was ecstatic to the point of frenzy.
He was a top-tier genius himself, excelling in any field, initially expected to draw everyone’s attention, but had always been overshadowed by Zhou Tong. He harbored resentment against him.
Now, he had finally removed this significant obstacle, with the process proving much easier than he had imagined.
“You can get lost. Once you leave the sect today, never return again.”
“I’m going!”
Zhou Tong departed without a trace of nostalgia, leaving behind four words as his tall figure strode away.
“Isn’t this a bit too cruel?”
Elder Baihe looked at Mo Liushu hesitantly. “In recent years, he has contributed so much to the sect, and with the next Hundred Sects Convention looming, there’s hardly anyone else who can take up the mantle!”
“What a fuss!”
Mo Liushu sneered, “His achievements are all thanks to the sect’s training. Moreover, my little disciple Tang Qi possesses the demeanor of a God King. Comparing the two is like comparing a phoenix to a sparrow; they are not even in the same league!”
Her voice was loud, fearing Zhou Tong wouldn’t hear clearly.
Furthermore, she kept her gaze fixed on Zhou Tong’s back, unwilling to let up for a moment.
In normal circumstances, upon hearing such an evaluation, Zhou Tong would surely become alarmed, feeling increasingly humiliated, fearing being abandoned by her.
Now, she stated this intentionally, hoping to see Zhou Tong waver or suffer, even if just a little, but the outcome would surely disappoint her.
Zhou Tong’s steps remained steady and resolute, growing further away, until he was out of her sight.
Yet, she stared longingly in that direction for quite some time, her gaze fixed!
“Bring forth the Heaven Mirror, I wish to reflect everything about him, and then make it public.”
Once these words were spoken, the surrounding elders were again startled, with some immediately jumping forth to counter.
“This is against the rules; during a public trial, only the judge needs to accept the Heavenly Dao’s interrogation and monitoring. The judged does not need the same!”
“Special circumstances require special treatment. Since he has left the sect, he can no longer use the sect’s ultimate skills. I must monitor him!”
“That’s inappropriate!” Elder Baihe frowned.
“Zhou Tong has defeated countless peers, earning a lot of resentment. Now that he has lost all his cultivation, he is at his weakest; if his whereabouts are exposed, it will certainly endanger him!”
“And what if that happens? His life and death are none of my concern.”
Hearing Mo Liushu’s indifferent words sent chills down many people’s spines.
Mo Liushu was clearly acting with intent; she aimed to push Zhou Tong into a corner, using death as a threat to make him submit!
She intended to completely break Zhou Tong’s pride!
