Chapter 22: Nameless Jade Slip_2
Xiao Buli thought to himself, "Immortal Beasts, they're nothing special after all." He walked up to the Rat King, who was on the verge of death, and unleashed a Great Seal, the Void Sealing Technique! But it seemed the beast had already resigned to its fate and allowed itself to be sealed obediently.
Looking at the remnants of flesh and blood on the ground, Xiao Buli felt quite satisfied with the battle, having emerged unscathed. He cast a few healing spells on the Rat King to restore its physical strength and stationed it at the entrance of the cave to stand guard. That way, even if the swarm of rats returned, they wouldn't dare to act rashly. Only then did Xiao Buli, with a hint of fatigue, approach the treasure chest. He had erred earlier by checking the equipment before the chest. If only he had opened the treasure chest first and taken everything, he could have fled at the sight of the rat swarm, without taking any risks.
Having arranged everything, Xiao Buli now stood before the treasure chest. He opened the heavy stone lid and reached inside. However, the contents weren't as abundant as the exterior suggested. There were some Spirit Stones, red and blue gemstones, and a scroll that seemed like a bamboo slip, though upon closer inspection, it was different. Xiao Buli picked it up and examined it closely.
At this moment, a series of small characters flashed before his eyes: System notification: Opened 'Ancient Jade Treasure Chest' and obtained 37 Spirit Stones.
Obtained 2 gemstones
Obtained "Nameless Jade Slip".
Nameless Jade Slip? Is this the very item in his hands? Xiao Buli held the Jade Slip, feeling its hefty weight in his hand, and its material was warm and exquisitely lustrous to the touch—a sure sign of fine jade. The slip was about thirty centimeters long, made of pierced jade stones strung together, similar yet distinct from bamboo slips, but the material was certainly not ordinary.
Xiao Buli had admired it enough and proceeded to unroll the Jade Slip, eager to see what it contained. As he spread it out, he was blinded by the glaring gold. The characters had been written in gold powder that emitted a peculiar fragrance and a faint luminous glow. With the slip's jade being white and the gold powder a hue closer to yellow, Xiao Buli initially struggled to make out the characters. The more he tried to focus on the tiny, densely-packed script, the less he could understand, leaving him dizzy and unable to concentrate. It seemed reading this Jade Slip required a certain level of cultural knowledge or a high Spirit Attribute. Helpless, Xiao Buli rolled it back up and put it in his bag.
He then searched the cave again, but because the Stone-tooth Rats had destroyed the equipment, he didn't find any decent gear. However, he did find some Spirit Stones within the chest and unearthed numerous Crystal Stones, most of which seemed like high-quality materials due to their sparkle. Xiao Buli didn't hold back and stuffed them all into his bag.
The search took some time; upon seeing that the Stone-tooth Rat King was fully restored, Xiao Buli decided to check the attributes of his newly-captured pet. What he discovered brought him great joy; it seemed his venture into the cave was not in vain, nor was the risk he had taken unwarranted. Concerned about his inventory of sealed pets running out, he was pleased to find the heavens immediately replenished it with a superior one.

The attributes and skills were formidable, but one particular skill caught Xiao Buli's eye—that was the Rat King's LV8 Excavate skill. If it could penetrate rock, then concrete wouldn't be an issue either. Ever since entering the game, because of his fear of death, Xiao Buli consciously developed his survival skills. Cloud Thunder Leap was undoubtedly a powerful asset outdoors, but indoors, Xiao Buli couldn't make use of it. While Earth Escape was a strength, it was useless against rock or concrete barriers, so he had always wanted to find a way to address this weakness. Moreover, considering his current predicament, Xiao Buli had been wanting to learn Pass-Through-Walls Skills, but things had not gone as planned in the game.
Now, seeing the Rat King's skills, he pondered a thought: If he could summon it in the real world, then all his problems would be solved. Not only could he escape the base, but he would also have significant assistance in the future. It was just uncertain whether such a plan could be realized.
