Chapter 1: Prologue
The day my dad called me to the living room with that nervous grin on his face, I knew something big was coming. I just didn't expect this.
"Son," he said, scratching the back of his neck, "I'm getting remarried."
I blinked. Okay, fine. He'd been divorced from Mom for years, and I was already 18—old enough not to care too much. But then he dropped the bombshell.
"She's got three daughters. They're moving in with us next week."
Three daughters. Three. And just like that, my quiet, boring life as an only child was about to get a whole lot louder—and a whole lot weirder.
When I met them, I realized "weird" didn't even begin to cover it. My new stepmother, Hana, was a knockout—a graceful woman with a smile that could melt ice. But her daughters? They were something else entirely.
There was Aiko, the eldest, with her sharp eyes and a smirk that screamed trouble. Then came Reina, the middle one, all soft curves and a voice so sweet it could lure you into a trap. And finally, little Mina, the youngest—cute as a button, but with a mischievous streak that made me question her innocence.
"Nice to meet you, Kaito-kun," they said in unison, their voices blending into a harmony that sent a shiver down my spine.
Yeah. My life was officially over—or maybe, just maybe, it was about to begin.
