Chapter 5: 4. The Place On The Brochure.
The moment Quincy saw what had gotten the girls all rerved up, he couldn't believe his eyes and to show how much disbelief he had, he just ripped the brochure from Evelyn's hands and walked little bit forward.
Looking at the brochure he couldn't believe that something like this would be shown and advertised, he tried to see what other places did the brochure advertise and show and to his unexpected surprise. It was the town's brochure.
Still finding it hard to believe and process all this, he tried so many times maybe thinking that there was maybe some kind of joke, who knew. After the life he had in school and outside of school.
Negative thoughts started to plunder Quincy's mind, he started to think and assume that maybe just maybe all of this was some kind of sick plan that the whole school have joined together and pull up one last prank on him.
Because rumours were speculating information all saying all kinds of different things like for one; that Quincy's school record is so perfect that he didn't need to actually go all through high school, automatically he was already accepted in various high esteemed colleges and universities; other rumours said that the government and military took an interest in him.
So sooner or later Quincy was going to be working with the military, making things like telling lies and trying to keep the truth about conspiracy that the government doesn't want the people of the town to know.
Jade paid attention and noticed that something was actually bothering Quincy, while the other two who really didn't seem to really care much about Quincy or his feelings or what so ever, instead of getting worried or even bother to ask themselves on why did he actually rip the brochure of their hands.
All they could care about was actually what they saw on that brochure.
"What was that place?" Evelyn asked.
"I don't know, Eve but by the looks of it I think it is an awesome place." Holland getting all worked up.
Evelyn and Holland were two complete different opposite, all three of them actually had different personalities but they could go along with each other.
Obviously Jade being the beauty queen, Evelyn being the beautiful but clueless knucklehead, and Holland being the cool but gothic girl who didn't care too much about stuff.
"Hey, are you okay?" Jade cane to check up on Quincy who was clearly in some sort of distress.
Quincy was like now a maniac who just lost his mind, "No, no, no this isn't possible."
"What's not impossible, Quincy what are you really talking about?" Jade showing concern.
"I mean this place, no this thing being here it's completely wrong." Quincy trying to make sense.
"Quincy, what are you talking about? Because all I see is just an old random church." Jade looking at the exact same picture.
Quincy's heart was broken, those negative thoughts that tormented him. He couldn't believe that even his own best friend would be on it too, did they really hate him that much to do something so cruel and inhuman to him?
Quincy just lost it.
"Of course, you would see just a random church! You're in this too!!!"
Jade got freaked out and jumped out of scare, she gave herself distance from him.
Seeing the commotion Evelyn and Holland decided to come and check, what the hell was going on.
"Hey! Who gave you the permission to talk to Jade like that, huh?" Holland just shoved Quincy to the ground.
Evelyn being the sweet angel that she was, she just let Holland do her thing and play protector of the group and she was going to play her role, and that being the group's caretaker.
Jade was trembling, she couldn't even look at Quincy's eyes.
"Are you okay? Why did he lash out on you like that?" Evelyn comforting Jade who was now shaking and scared.
Quincy still not sure what he had done, was either wrong or right and looking like he didn't have any remorse or whatever.
That really pissed Holland to the point that she just went to him and just held Quincy roughly with his hoodie.
"What the hell is wrong with you? Don't you see what you have done to her?!"
Quincy just separated himself from Holland who's eyes were burning with hatred for him.
"You're all in it too, so why would I care what had happened to any of you!!!"
"What the hell is this freak talking about?" Holland confused.
Quincy just handed her the brochure.
"Look at this, do you even know what is that place?"
Holland just looked at the brochure, "are you stupid or what, how am I going to know what is this place? I don't live here, isn't that why we asked you to show us around?"
Quincy feeling like he has been put to his place, "That is the Blood Church."
Jade was feeling a lot better now, "What the hell is the Blood Church?"
Quincy just looked at her.
Took a deep breath, "It's one place that shouldn't be on that brochure."
The girls just stared at each other with more confusion that they had earlier.
"What are you talking about?" Jade looking at the brochure.
Quincy still thinking that maybe this was part of their prank or something like that so to avoid making it obvious, he dodged the question.
"Where did you get that brochure?"
"Huh, oh it's actually mine my mom bought it for me she's actually a tourist, she's been all over the world so she likes these kind of things." Evelyn confessed.
"And where did she get it from?" Quincy now playing detective.
"I don't know, why?" Evelyn asked.
Quincy then decided to tell them everything.
"The church that you see there isn't any ordinary church, it's one to be believed a devilish church, because it's the church that has been here longer than the town itself. It is believed that during the pilgrim era. During Thanksgiving the Pilgrims lost their minds all of them and slaughtered each and every single one of the Natives, after that they slaughtered themselves."
Listen to the story, Jade and Holland found a story lot familiar than this one.
"Wait, a minute isn't that the story of Thanksgiving? But apart from the killing." Jade asked.
"Yeah, I think even in history books that story is there." Holland supporting.
"That is the story told, but the truth is that story began here and in order to avoid getting the town destroyed and shut, the first mayor. Hired actors to play the part to convince everyone else." Quincy continued.
"Okay, then what's that have to do with you lashing out on Jade like that?" Holland looking for the whole story.
Quincy wasn't sure even he should answer that or not, he was in between.
"Well, are you going to answer her or what?" Jade asked.
"Ten years ago, there was a young kid who was walking with his father and this kid's father on that particular day he told him about the church and a kid being a kid, he forced his father to take him to the church but against his father's opinions, in the end the kid finally won." Quincy began telling the story.
The girls didn't expect any of that so they all sat down and listened to the story.
"Then what happened next?" Evelyn asked the question that they were all afraid of asking.
Quincy had not choice but to tell them the whole story.
"They went to the church and entered in, the kid found out that his father was lying because to him the church looked normal, I meant there was a chapel, and there was church seats and to make it even more convincing the church had Christ on the cross."
With their interests peaking, they got more interesting in the story.
"But not everything is as it portrays to be, soon after the boy and his father got inside the church. Something unexpected happened, the church sealed church it's doors and windows, then something appeared out of nowhere something that wasn't even human and went for the boy but his father dived in to save him and while the boy was shivering in fear. His father just disappeared and nowhere to be found."
Quincy just left the story at that.
Then the girls couldn't help themselves and just asked questions.
"What happened to the father?" Holland hating to be left on a cliffhanger.
"What happened to the boy and where is he now?" Jade asked the following question.
These were all good questions but Quincy wasn't in the mood of answering them now, he just sat there and kept quiet.
"Well I don't know what the fuss was about because." Holland just stood up took out her brochure that she had on her and just handed it to Quincy.
Quincy took it, and asked. "What is this?"
Holland showed her what was on that brochure, Quincy couldn't believe his eyes.
Jade handed him hers too, "Yeah, even mine."
Quincy took it and looked all three of the brochures he had.
"Impossible."
He sighed.
