Chapter 150: Chapter 148 - The Birth of the Shadow Monarch!
[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]
Third Person POV
Romania.

...
As strange forces began to notice a certain power rising within planet Earth, Snape remained trapped in the portrait.
"No, sorry. I won't be able to provide any information about this. Don't insist..." said an iconic figure sitting calmly in a chair, addressing the two people before him. He was the greatest investigator in England, meeting with a prominent family who had requested his presence.
"Why can't you give us information about him?" insisted the patriarch of the family — none other than Mr. Nott, sitting alongside his wife.
"I already said, I'm not interested in something like that… Sending me to investigate a school brat for you? Spare me…" Steve Vujin replied, shrugging with indifference.
"But we're paying you a lot of money! Why won't you do it?" the man from the noble family pressed further.
Steve shrugged again. "I don't care about money. There are more important things than that — one of them being my reputation. What will people say when they hear I'm chasing a child? Spare me that humiliation immediately and stop insisting…" he said calmly, looking at his visitors, making it clear he wanted no further persistence.
"Listen, this boy is hiding something big! He has a very strong connection with Gringotts Bank, and no one can figure out what it is. Besides, strangely, everyone sent to capture him ends up dead. There's no way a half-blood can be untouchable. Even the Dark Lord wants information on the boy! He demands an investigation and results. Not even the Black family can say much about him..." argued Mr. Nott.
For months, the Death Eaters had made no progress in discovering the identity of the mysterious killer. Now, they were searching for Snape, but with no success. He had vanished, or was hiding somewhere.
"Look, Mr. Vujin, you'd better cooperate when the Dark Lord is demanding it. Not even you can mess with the Dark Lord," Mr. Nott said.
The investigator shook his head, clearly irritated.
"Get out of here! If you keep talking nonsense, I'm not interested in you or your master, dog," Steve said, his patience wearing thin.
Snape had been missing for over a month, and the magical world seemed to be gradually forgetting about him. His last public appearance had been when he gave a statement in the newspaper, calming the situation and clearing himself of all suspicion. However, some people still searched for him, finding his disappearance highly suspicious.
But no matter how hard they looked, Snape was nowhere to be found. It seemed as though he had vanished from the map after that statement.
The Notts were the third family to seek information from Steve Vujin. However, the presence of this particular family had irritated the famous investigator to a different degree.
"What did you say? You'll regret this!" exclaimed Mr. Nott, outraged at being called a dog and seeing Steve dismiss Voldemort so casually.
The investigator's gaze turned dangerous as he locked eyes with the noble patriarch.
"Leave now, or I'll kill you. You know very well I will, so don't push me. I can do it, and no one will be able to do anything against me…" he said with outward calm, but the threat was unmistakable.
Mr. Nott clenched his fists, clearly uneasy. He knew the investigator was capable of extreme actions and could easily get away with them, thanks to the powerful favors he was owed by influential figures in the magical community. It was entirely possible that Steve could walk away unscathed, no matter what happened.
"Let's go. There's nothing more to be done here," said the patriarch's companion, his wife, pulling him away from the confrontation.
As they left the premises, the investigator watched in silence. He didn't say a word, merely resumed his seat and picked up a newspaper, snapping his fingers to enchant the door, ensuring that the Notts would not be able to return.
"Mr. Snape, you've been giving me a lot of trouble lately..." Steve muttered to himself with a small sigh, as he continued reading the newspaper to gather new information.
Suddenly, he lifted his gaze, narrowing his eyes. He focused his attention eastward, through the walls of his office, far beyond what any normal vision could reach — thousands of kilometers away, outside the country. His eyes began to glow yellow at that moment.
"I see it has finally begun..." Steve murmured, a smile spreading across his face before his eyes returned to normal. He calmly resumed reading the newspaper, as if nothing had happened.
Meanwhile, back in England — or rather, far beyond planet Earth, heading toward the stars — there was a distant planet in the same galaxy. It was a place once rich with life, with green, yellow, and red vegetation, and a vast ocean covering most of its surface.
But that was only a distant memory of the planet's former state. Now, it was nothing more than a giant ball of ice hurtling through the universe, with massive blizzards covering the entire globe. Despite being close enough to its sun to prevent freezing, the planet had succumbed to an eternal winter.
The seas, forests, and mountains had been buried beneath layers of ice, and the vegetation had been completely destroyed. No one could survive there without proper equipment. Yet, even in those harsh conditions, there was movement across the frozen landscape.
Footsteps echoed on the snow. Tall creatures with large, pointed ears marched, carrying spears. Some wore primitive armor. These were beings known as ice elves — or rather, they had become ice elves after the arrival of a malevolent being in their world.
That being, a former guardian, now stood atop a mountain, watching over the planet's frozen inhabitants. All its living beings had been transformed into ice elves, and now, as the Ice Monarch, he was raising his army.
"Well, it seems this world is finished. Time to move on to the next, while I continue building my army..." he said, satisfied. As his title implied, he ruled over ice, and it had not been difficult for him to turn this world into its current frozen state.
He glanced down at his hand with pride, admiring his accomplishment — turning all the living beings he once swore to protect into his enslaved soldiers, now serving his ambitions.
Like the other monarchs, he had spread across various worlds, traveling through dimensions and building his forces. Seeing the entire planet under his dominion filled him with satisfaction.
The troops began to march through portals leading to a dimensional space he had created, preparing to depart for his next conquest.
However, just as he took his first step toward the portal, he stopped. His gaze shifted to the sky, narrowing as he sensed something approaching — something from elsewhere in the galaxy.
"What is that?" he asked aloud, surprised.
It was as if he sensed a presence he believed long dead. But, just as quickly as it had appeared, the sensation faded like a distant memory. Shaking his head, he dismissed the feeling and stepped into the portal, disappearing from the ruined world.
All he left behind was ice and death. Those he hadn't managed to transform into ice elves had been slaughtered in a merciless massacre.
Meanwhile, in another part of the universe, there was a devastated planet, appearing as though a civil war had torn it apart.
In one area of the planet, amid a destroyed forest, stood a ruined temple. Corpses lay rotting alongside broken-down robots, with many walls of the temple reduced to rubble and crashed ships scattered across the landscape.
This was the ancient Temple of the Guardians.
At first glance, it appeared ordinary for a war-torn ruin. However, hidden deep within the temple lay a sector no one had ever known about — not even the highest-ranking guardians.
Descending into the depths of these ruins, one would find structures far older than anyone had believed possible.
Within this ancient sector stood colossal statues of winged beings, described by Earth's Muggles as angels. These statues stood between 30 and 50 meters tall, each one holding a spear and shield.
They had remained motionless for millions of years — until now.
Suddenly, the eyes of the statues began to glow, and the entire structure trembled, releasing dust and debris into the air. The stillness had ended, and something was about to awaken.
Then, intense lights began to radiate from their wings, and the first statue took a step forward, the ground shaking under its massive feet. This was the Guardians' security system — the last one.
Once all the rings were consumed again, the Guardians would wield the power they had sealed away before leaving their order to protect the universe. It was time to activate the final defense system, now necessary with all the Monarchs free once more.
The entire galaxy was in peril at that moment. The last Monarch was being created on a nearly unknown planet, where no one felt the looming threat — no one except one person who truly understood what was happening there.
Meanwhile, on Earth, the world was hearing news of a man terrorizing England, plunging the country into a crisis. He called himself the Dark Lord.
However, in another country on the same continent, the true Dark Lord was being born at that very moment.
Snape was there, finishing the final moments of his absorption of the dungeon's power. The countdown timer displayed the last few seconds:
"3... 2... 1... 0!"
Snape opened his eyes, still seated on his throne. His gaze shone a deeper shade of blue than ever before. He could feel the dark energy surrounding him, as if death itself was cloaking him in its veil.
"I've been here for twenty days?" he sighed, murmuring almost in disbelief at how quickly everything had passed.
It felt strange. The experience had been too intense. It seemed like only the blink of an eye, but he had spent twenty days in that place, completely unaware of how much time had passed in the real world. Time in the dungeons did not seem to flow the same way as in the normal world; dimensions operated on different timelines.
"So, it's finally over," Snape murmured, staring at his hands in amazement. He felt different — lighter, yet much more powerful, as though nothing could stop him.
He glanced around the hall and found himself alone once again. There were no more warriors, archers, mages, or even his own shadowy self. There was only him.
Suddenly, floating messages appeared before him in midair. He read each one carefully.
As the messages unfolded, he saw that he had gained new statuses, abilities, and, most importantly, a new title: "Monarch of Shadows."
The final message glowed brightly before his eyes:
"You possess the power of the true Monarch of Shadows. You now have the ability to control the dead."
